Stamps from Norddeutcher Postbezirk were issued after the german war 1866, when all states and Hansestädten in the nothern part of germany united in a north German mail administration. In the following years states like Sachsen, Hessen, Baden, Bayern and Württemberg joined what became Deutches Reich. From January the first 1872 stamps was issued for Germany. Stamps issued from Norddeutcher Postbezirk were used in Schleswig from 1868-1871.
