1897 prir (3) overprint.
In 1987 the last 3 aur were used before a new delivery arrived. 5 aur stamps were overprinted with a red 3 in Reykjavik. 8600 5 aur stamps were overprinted, but the overprint was found unsatisfactory. So the stamps were overprinted again with prir (three) in black. At the same time another 5000 stamps were overprinted. Prir exist in two versions in each sheet with small letters (6 top rows) and larger letters (4 bottom rows). As both wersion of 5 aur green cl08 were overprinted 6 different types of the stamp exist. Additionally the stamp is known only overprinted with 3. 6 copies are known.
